Volcom Pipeline Pro Waiting Period Begins This Week

Volcom Pipeline Pro Waiting Period Begins This Week

Posted on Jan 28, 2010 by Landon in Contests, Events

The Volcom Pipeline Pro started today… which is a WQS 5-star event. It’s the first contest of the ASP 2010 season and hopefully should kick off a macking El Nino year on tour. With all the huge swells lighting up around the world, this season looks like it could be super sick. It feels like the last 3 years or so the waves on tour have been less then average. The Pipeline contest this last December started out SUPER sick but trickled down fast till the last day. I wanted to see some serious macking barrels out there at pipe for the final. My fingers are crossed for the Volcom Pipeline Pro.

This year on the ASP tour there have been some big changes implemented to the way they pick the guys who surf in the main events. I’ll report more on that soon when the first contest of the dream tour kicks off next month. Until then, kick back and watch the boys drop into some bombs.

Waves are going off again today. 6 minutes left… I’m rooting for Derek Ho!

Jamie-o wins it in pretty sick conditions at pipeline. Sick contest, and great start to the 2010 season.
