El Nino holding pattern

El Nino holding pattern

As winter approaches fast I could feel the water temp drop with each week. I haven’t had to bust out the gloves yet but I could feel it coming on strong. I’ve actually never worn gloves in my life, and I hope I never have too. Everyone is pulling them out early, but yesterday surprisingly the water temp was the warmest I’ve felt in the last few months. If El Nino comes in strong like the predictions have been, it could actually end up being super warm for the Oregon coast. Which would be a welcomed surprise for all the surfers that actually keep surfing in the winter months up here. I’ll keep a status on the progress of the El Nino and it’s predictions. The weather patterns have already been abnormally strong for this time of the year. And with 35 foot swells predicted for the coming days… it looks to me like we could definitely be in an El Nino holding pattern.
